Ron Emmons & Olena Oak Grasp World's Greatest Horseman Title Again


It was a tight race for the World's Greatest Horseman title in San Angelo, Texas, on Saturday, Feb. 2. But the 2012 Champions, Ron Emmons and Olena Oak, blasted to the front of the pack to win the event for the second consecutive time.

Olena Oak, owned by Emmon's wife, LaDona, and Nichole Scott, carried Emmons to a total score of 874 on four events (219 herd/214.5 rein/221.5 steer/219 cow).





The Open Bridle Reserve World Champion was Starlighting (Grays Starlight x Ollie Olena), a 2003 stallion shown by Ron Emmons, Ione, Calif., for owner Coyote Rock Ranch. Emmons rode Starlighting to scores of 219 in the rein work and 218 in the cow work, for a total 437 on two events and a $6,111 payday.
